A Common Question – Is a Blog a Business?
A blog, short for “weblog”, is a conversational-style website that regularly publishes posts in reverse chronological order (meaning the most recent post appears first). Blogs can come in many shapes and sizes, and focus on a number of different topics. The goal is to share ideas with like-minded people, connect with individuals around the world, and potentially turn that traffic into income.
Not all blogs seek to produce an income – some are simply used for leisure. But when a blog seeks to generate an income, I’d personally consider it an online business. Publishing quality content on a consistent basis attracts visitors, which can produce an income if monetization methods are implemented correctly. There are many options for making money online, but some of the most popular strategies include pay-per-click advertisements, affiliate marketing, and selling your own product(s)/service(s).
