Can My Website Generate Immediate Income?
The answer to this question truly depends on a number of factors, including the amount of effort you are putting into it, the amount of engagement your site is experiencing, and your chosen niche, among many other things. Overall, you’re building an online business, and there’s no doubt that it takes time. One of the key factors to a strong website is high search engine rankings, some of which cannot be earned without “seniority”. In other words, the older your site, the more trusted it will be in the eyes of the Big Three: Google, Bing, and Yahoo.
I think my story is somewhat typical of the novice internet market, so that’s what I’ll share since I experienced it firsthand. On average, I put about 10 or so hours into my site each week. When I started, I didn’t know much about affiliate marketing, pay-per-click advertisements, or selling my own products & services online. It took me about a month or two to get through many of the training courses at Wealthy Affiliate. Overall, I didn’t really make any significant sales (under $100 total) within the first six months, but I had a live website with growing content and proof that it could work. Then after the 6-month mark, things really hit an upward trend, and the work I put in at the earlier stages was starting to pay off. The following year I made nearly $6,000 with one affiliate program. If you stay focused and stick to the process, the rewards will present themselves, but it’s not a “get-rich-quick” strategy.
